Following on form the photography experiments, I decided that the macro style photos (fig. 1,2,3) were the best to use as they made the mundane objects more abstract and visually interesting. This was important because the newspaper is aimed at students, so images of cleaning products is not something that they are likely to find aesthetically pleasing. After cropping the images to the correct size, the colour needed to be changed. For each of the images I made a copy of it in green, pink and purple so that the layout of the newspaper wouldn't be restricted when it came to finalising the design. To ensure each of the colours are the same when printed I used the individual colour code, making each of the shades exactly the same. Figure 4 shows a screen grab of the Photoshop colour screen. I used the duotone curve to ensure that all of the highlights and shadows were exactly the same on each of the images that I edited. The same had to be done for the brightness and contrast of the image, shown in figure 5. Figures 6 and 7 show examples of how the final images have come out.
