Studio brief 3: Final poster developments

Based on the feedback from the final crit, it was advised that fragments from the screen prints were taken and used as a texture on some of the promotional material for the exhibition rather than just the generic texture used in the logo. Figure 1 shows the fragments taken from some of the prints that will be in the exhibition, placed within the boundaries of the triangle.
The triangles then had to individually turned to grayscale and then using the monotone option on AdobePhotoshop, I was able to change them to either cyan, magenta or yellow (fig. 2). Figure 3 shows how they would look, giving a few option to play around with to show the concept visually in mock ups.
Figures 4 and 5 show how the textured triangles look when placed on the final poster. It works well to showcase the work that is in the exhibition, giving the audience a chance to understand the purpose of the exhibition further, acting as encouragement for them to go and visit. The texture is interesting because it makes each of the posters look so different, but when compared to the rest of the branding work for the exhibition, it was clear that the posters do not maintain the design consistency. it was decided to go back to the original designs as shown in figure 6. The fragments of work concept was something that may work better on the social media platforms rather than the main publications.
