OUGD404: Design boards feedback

Figure 1 shows a screen grab of the initial attempt at the design boards and the writing in a word document that will be on them. 

The feedback session today allowed us to bring along our first attempt at design boards for Design Principles. We had the chance to receive feedback from 2 different people based on the learning objective for the module. The feedback was helpful as it highlighted some important parts that I had forgot to include on my boards. It also gave us chance to decide on the way in which we are planning to present the work on the boards, pictures being the main focus and not the writing. I can now apply this feedback and re-visit the information that I have decided to include on the design boards. 

Feedback
It was pointed out that I had not included a picture of the poster when talking about the colour. The feedback session has taught me that the visual imagery on the design boards has more importance than the writing. The images should instantly tell the audience what the writing will be about before they read it. 

A comment was made about when talking about the format decisions for my initial ideas it is not clear that it is for this publication. I need to re-word the paragraph so that it is clear that it is about the Pantone booklet. 

It was suggested that discussing serif and sans serif typeface could be interesting and why I chose the particular styles that I did for each of the designs. 

The Layout design board demonstrates the appropriate use of a grid system and the positive it affect that it has throughout the design process. You also show a good understanding of when it is appropriate to use the media required for a set brief, for example: Format design board shows awareness of the fact that your knowledge of material and stock has developed this year. By considering to use acetate as opposed to tracing paper, you are able to consider both aesthetics as well as durability. 


The development and creation of a pantone booklet shows the understanding of the colour system and how a general pantone system can apply in a given context. However, presentation of these colours are required to achieve this.
