Jungle Se7ens - Visual research

Tropical festival home page research
This is a submission that was made to a live brief on briefbox.com and it really stood out to me as a good visual reference and set of work that I could evaluate as a starting point for my research. The bright use of colour works really well to capture attention and reflect the tropical theme of the festival. As I have been given a them to work with, I should consider the colours that are used in order to effectively communicate this theme visually. The use of vector leaves in a bock colour allows for a large amount of variation across all of the different medias and needs, but also easily keeps consistent. The designer has used real life imagery and contrasted it with the vector imagery well.

Festival branding
This is a good example of how the logo of the festival can be applied across all of the different media that will need it. The style of the logo as been applied to the different vector icons that will be used as a sign system at the festival and this has been achieved by using the same line weight and simplicity as the logo. The logo itself reflects the name of the festival by taking on the visual style of a maze and then 'trapping' the word in the centre of it. The use of the marbled pattern has been transferred from the poster design onto the different elements such as lanyards and banners to effectively maintain the visual style of the festival.

Bournemouth 7s
Bournemouth 7s is the festival that Jungle Se7ens is based upon, or at least acts as a big influence to. The festival has a strong identity and the logo is a rugby ball, but this is not really consistently used on any of the other promotional materials for the festival. The visual identity is based on the use of vibrant and extremely bright colours. This is something that Tropic Nation wanted to improve upon as a festival with a strong visual identity will surely do better. Tropic Nation wants to eventually be as big as this festival, but in terms of design the festival needed a much stronger visual identity in order to gain interest of a new target audience based in theNorth and a sense of legitimacy needed to be established in order for the festival to do well and for team to actually signup and come to it. The map that has been released is visually very impressive, but the colour palette does not match that of the current vibrant online presence that the festival has established.
