Jungle Se7ens - Brief

Brief
This brief for now is with the intention that the first release in terms of the visual identity will be based on an overall vibe that can be created in regards to the festivals intentions, but as the line up and smaller details have yet to be confirmed the final final visual identity will be finalised at a later date once some of the interest in the festival has been established.

Tropic Nation
Tropic Nation is a multi-facetted sport and events organisation. We aim to put on concept events which blow your mind.
Growing up in the naughties I remember hearing stories about new music, independent clubs and illegal raves pioneering the nightlife culture, but I was born a generation too late. Now I see this culture fade as independent industry champions close. Between 2005-2015 nearly half of British Clubs closed (ALMR), due to gentrification & the property monopoly - just look at the fact that places like Canal Mills are closing down in Leeds.
In the face of this, enter Tropic Nation - an events company with a social agenda. Radically concept focussed, we aim to put on something a little bit different and unapologetically fresh; events which put the soul back in the ‘after-dark’ culture. We hope to provide a platform for a collective sense of purpose, and invest back into our communities giving young & independent talent a space to express themselves. Think pirate radio in events.
The success of this supports project tropic nation - a social development project which looks to educate young people through sport.

Jungle Se7ens
Tropic Nation’s ‘JUNGLE SE7ENS’ is set for its inaugural event on the 21st of April 2019 in Leeds, as the North’s headline sport & music festival.

Immerse yourself in the Tropics of Leeds as we bring you:
🌴 fast paced rugby 7s
🌴 street food
🌴 two concept bars
🌴 & an exciting lineup of both up n coming local talent and established artists, under our jungle canopy party tent
+ loads more entertainment

Brief interpretation
The visual identity needs to be:
  • consistent
  • consider core aspects and reasons behind the festival
  • work as an overlay on a number of backgrounds
  • on trend for target audience of students
  • consider the current colour palette of Tropic Nation but with the added vibrance for the festival
  • transferrable across printed media and online platforms
