New design must take into
consideration the core aspects of and reasons behind the festival. It needs to
be punchy, and at the same time look good/smart on minimal backgrounds. As
Tropic Nation is a tropical concept orientated events company, these will need
to be an air of this in the logo, but nothing OTT.
1. Focusing on the
target audience of the festival a current trend is the bold sans serif
typefaces and often placed within the bounds of a geometric shape. This logo
design could work as a stamp onto a number of outcomes and the use of two
typefaces allows for variation within the designs.
2. Taking the first
letters of ‘Leeds Se7ens’ the initial ideas show how when placed on top of each
other it works well as a logo that can be stamped onto posters, social media
content etc. and then also expanded to the full words if a clearer description
of the purpose is needed.
3. This idea focuses
more on the music side of the festival by taking a sound wave and having 7 above
points to represent the 7 players in each of the rugby teams. This design works
well, but maybe doesn’t represent the sport side of the festival explicitly
enough.
4. The circular
bounds were inspired by a beer mat design as this is something heavily
associated with the game of rugby and music festivals in general – something
they both have in common. The design is bold as the central circle is
predominantly a block colour with the contrasting outer ring and title
within.
