The logo design fulfils the
brief of successfully representing the collection and the deeper intentions of
the garment designs through the visual graphic of a double layered outer shape
as the main structure of the logo. The logo is organic which were the mandatory
requirements set by the designer, achieved through the hand drawing of the
shapes and refined to work together in a minimal design style.
Aesthetically the logo ensures
that the more experimental and research lead part of the fashion collection was
visually represented through the subtle use of a second loop around of the
circular shape. The need to visually represent that it is a high end fashion
collection was achieved through the research into typefaces commonly used
within the industry. The use of Montserrat Light with an increased kerning contrast
well with the more organic approach for the rest of the logo.
As a very personal project
for the designer, we developed a close working relationship valuing all ideas
and taking development suggestion in a positive way rather than seeing it as
bad design. I enjoyed working closely with the designer throughout the process
as it meant that the logo outcome truly represented her fashion collection
which with more of an understanding on the design concept I was able to
achieve.
