Taking reference from the 80s synth-wave posters, the neutral typeface was chosen to modernise and represent the band Shadowlark. The main focus is the name in order to keep it simple, but the sine wave through the centre adds the elements that will then make it recognisable.
The event ‘Ethereal’ is based on the idea that Shadowlark are taking the 80s as inspiration but making something new and delicate in their own way. The illustrative lines on the poster highlight that although things are thought to be identical, there will always be a new twist.
