Final Rationale

Unorthodox is a display type with an unusual twist on the traditional typeface of Baskerville. The adjective ‘unorthodox’ is about breaking traditions, so by taking the physical structure of each letterform and casting a light to create the shadow; the typeface unorthodox is created. The idea was influenced by the research into the organic and physical approach to typeface creation. The alternative approach to the creation of this bold, legible and untraditional typeface would make it most suitable for use in creative event posters and branding.
