Our initial reaction to the assignment of food as the category for our ident made us all think about a particular scene in the Disney film The Road to El Dorado (fig.1) and Sophie showed us exactly which on it was. It was obvious that it was an animated domino effect and we would not be able to recreate this in a physical sense, but the way that it panned out and then ended on the circle all falling together made us relate to the branding of Channel Nought.
The original suggestion for the food category was sweets, but we decide that we liked the concept of using biscuits and for it to be relevant to the idea that in between the changing of tv shows it is a well known time to go and make a cup of tea and maybe grab a biscuit.
We created a collaborative Pinterest board (fig.2) to gather the images we liked and thought to aesthetically fit our intentions. This inspired our developed idea and how we intended to have a fairly vibrant colour palette, reflecting the design style of a lot of biscuit packets and also the icing used. The images collected were really useful as visual references but also intended to inform our design decisions later on in the process for the creation of the zine.
