Design for Screen - Extensive idea brainstorm

An app which allows creatives to access all websites and blogs of inspiration and interest in one place, with the daily release of articles of interest published straight to their personalised timeline. The user will also be able to access creative information based on chosen locations and easily add creative events to their own calendar.

Audience
  • Students
  • Creatives
  • Worldwide
  • People looking for inspiration
Design
  • Reflective of the design websites that the content is being drawn from
  • Organised
  • Consistent
  • Strict use of grid layout
  • Illustrative approach to the icons
  • Would need to have the feel of a news app, but a different design approach so that it is clear that is a creative app
Colours
  • White background
  • Black writing
  • Colour scheme that reflects creativity, but reliability
  • Low opacity sections highlighting certain pieces of information
Features
  • Can add creative events straight to the calendar
  • Choice of topics and websites to follow articles from
  • By liking a certain article that is suggested, it can then help to influence the content that is released to you in the future
  • Section for artists/designers profiles that can be favourited so that inspiration can be accessed when ever needed
  • Locations section to search local design studios, art galleries and art shops
  • Weekly calendar of exhibition and creative events that are happening
  • Some examples of the Guerilla Art in the area
Problems
  • How will people find out about it?
  • Will it be hard to include access to all creative articles?
  • Will the actual design websites loose visitors? Will need to give links to the source of the articles

User experience
  • Good navigation system
  • Ability to access all sections from any point in the app, little backwards and forwards
  • Updated timeline daily
  • Notifications without checking the app first
  • All in one place saves the massive amount of emails that get sent
