Astro-Beat Collective: Tickets

The initial designs were based on the idea that they would be printed as one size, slightly larger than credit card size and similar to other event tickets that we have been given for music events in Leeds. The design was going to follow the same style as the Facebook banners, but with the information a little less and presented in a more visual way. This changed when the printing company was sourced and finalised as they had a template to follow which was for a ticket with 3 sections divided up by perforation.

Initially I found it hard to visualise the purpose of having a 3 section ticket because it made sense for it to be two. If it was two then one section could be ripped off at the door and this could be used to ensure that each ticket was only to be used once per person. But this was the template that I had been given, so I changed my ideas in order to suit the need of the production of the ticket.

wearefyi is the company being used to print the tickets. There is an Adobe Illustrator template in which needs to be followed for the tickets to be printed successfully. In order to be able to use the visual effects that I wanted on the tickets, I designed the visuals in Adobe Photoshop and then sent it back to the clients on the Adobe Illustrator file format.

The ticket was designed so that the user can have the right side of it as a keepsake and then the security guards can rip the first left section off so that they can keep track of ticket usage and how many people are in the venue.
