Guide Book - PRIDE branding research

Pride is the positive stance against discrimination and violence toward lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people to promote their self-affirmation, dignity, equality rights and to increase their visibility as a social group and celebrate their sexual diversity.

Common symbols associated with pride:
- rainbow
- lowercase Greek letter, Lambda (λ)
- the pink and black triangle

Brighton + Hove
- rainbow as part of the logo design
- Bold sans-serif, white typeface paired with a thin weighted sans-serif typeface
- content presented within squared boundaries
- design focuses largely on the images rather than lots of writing

Leeds
- Sans-serif typeface
- White typeface
- Rainbow used as part of the title
- organised grid layout for the images could be a visual style that I incorporate into the book design

London
- the branding of this pride has a lot more emphasis on the rainbow as a visual identity
Bold sans-serif, white typeface as the display type and then black for the body text
- geometric design focused
